Bio: Nick Seabasty

Since Nick Seabasty is actually taller than most people I know, I refuse to call him “Little Nick.” I haven’t created any alternate nicknames or anything, mainly because I’m lazy, so I’ll just refer to the BMXer formerly known as “Little Nick” as “Nick.” Nick hails from Hoodbridge, NJ, is always down to ride, and seems to be on a different bike every single time I see him. Over the past few months, Nick’s hooked up with Larry Rhodes to film, with the above video being the result. And just in case you want a small glimpse into the world of Nick, I coerced him into answering the following questions. Welcome to our first rider bio of the year.

Name: Nick Seabasty (or Little Nick)
Age: 17
Hometown: Woodbridge, NJ
Years Riding: Somewhere between 4 and 5
Setup: Basic- Two pegs, no brakes, let the seatpost show
Sponsors: Grove Street and Team Wall Street
Soundtrack: Anything by the Rosewood Thieves is good in my book.
Inspirations: Friends, family, anyone with a positive attitude.
Favorite Video Sections: There’s a lot to choose from, but anything by Animal or Fit is always real good. Van Homan, Chase Dehart and Dakota Roche’s part from Stay Fit come to mind since it’s the most recent thing I’ve watched.

Favorite Riders: Mike Aitken, Dakota Roche, Corey Martinez and anyone that has a positive attitude towards BMX.
Favorite Spot to Ride: There’s a lot of cool spots I love to ride near me but I could really have fun riding anything that won’t get me kicked out too quick.

How’d you get into riding BMX?
Around the corner from my house in grade school, there were these trails I used to hang out at and watch. That sparked my interest, and I still ride with some of those kids to this day.

What’s the best thing about riding?
Being able to do what I want and pushing myself.

What’s the worst?
People trying to make rules in riding for what’s acceptable or not.

What’s been your most memorable BMX experience?
Me and three friends were riding some projects in lower Manhattan and were held up at gunpoint, but thanks to some homeless people shouting at the guys, we got away safely.

Where do you want to be in five years?
I wanna be hopefully riding still and I don’t know much other than that. I guess have a good job that I like and whatnot.
